  3. Select Add Vehicle/Unique Identifier on the right side. A pop-up window titled Vehicles will open.

    • For the field “Is this a visitor vehicle?”, select Yes only if you are adding a visitor licence plate for a Visitor Parking Permit.
  5. If you are applying for a Special Event, Healthcare, Music, or Guest Parking Permit, use the following unique identifiers instead of a plate number (replace XXXXX with the last five digits of your phone number):

    • HEALTHXXXXX – Healthcare
    • MUSICXXXXX – Music
    • GUESTXXXXX – Guest
  6. Click Save.
  7. Check the Accept Terms* box, then click Submit.

2. Applying for Parking Permits

A credit card is required when applying for a parking permit. While a credit card may be stored on file, it will not be charged automatically after the application is submitted for approval. Once a permit is Approved, an email is sent to confirm payment. Once confirmed, another email is sent with the invoice and permit attached. Please note that a non-refundable service fee will be applied to online payment:

    • 1.95% for credit card transactions
    • 1.50% for Visa/Mastercard Debit transactions
When you create an account and enter your address, the Ottawa Permit Portal automatically determines whether you are eligible for Residential On‑Street, Visitor, or Guest Parking Permits. If you live outside a designated zone, these permits will not be available for selection.

    1. Select Menu, then Permits.
    2. Click Add Permit.
    3. Complete all required fields (mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk).
